Stress and Culture Audits

oscr survey

oscr online stress survey

Auditing employee’s stress has been a core principle of HSE legislation for many years, however, the approach to measuring stress, and stressors, has not been legislated, and many organisations take the path of least resistance when addressing these issues. Stress in employees can be caused by personal or workplace stressors, however, the organisation’s responsibilities are not limited to workplace stressors, but rather to the individual. In other words, if an employee is stressed, the employer has a responsibility to acknowledge and react to that stress, irrespective of the cause of that stress.

Our online survey, OSCR, is a perfect way to address the auditing process. In addition to gathering data to measure individual’s stress levels (using BMA approved surveys) we also gather additional information which allows as to predict and analyse how stress will manifest itself within groups of employees.

We also ask questions aimed at the culture and ethos within the organisation. This data allows an accurate description of the workplace, workforce, identifies underlying employee issues and can assist managers in tackling problems before they become larger issues.

How does it work?

The survey can be carried out within any organisation, and we typically survey between 20 and 200 individuals in one survey. For those without internet access, we offer a postal/transcription service.

Survey

The surveys are carried out online, with each employee being given a unique username and password to allow access to the survey. This is purely to prevent unauthorised, and repeated, access to the survey. The survey is anonymous. A typical survey will take between 10 and 15 minutes to complete

Report

Within 2 weeks of the completion of the survey, a full written report is made available which provides full detailed analysis of the results, highlights any critical issues, and provides a list of suggested actions.

Action Plan

Our report may identify issues which will require further action by you. We can assist you in producing an action plan to address these.
